I am the great-grandson of Frank Keith, a 12th Armored veteran who served in HQ Battery, 494th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. My g-grandfather's war service has always been a mystery. All that we have are three studio photos of him in his dress uniform taken at the end of the war and one of his dog tags. In the late 1990s I wrote to Senator Dale Bumpers to have his medals reissued to me. His medals were reissued to me and the information that he served in the 494th was provided.
I recently reached out to the museum and the association and was directed to this messaging board. Additionally, I was advised that Mr. Bob Scherer and Mike Woldenberg would possibly be able to help with finding more information of my g-grandfather's service. I have scanned through the photos available through the website, unfortunately I do not see him in any of them. I have scanned all of his war time photos and documents into a PDF file that I am happy to share.
I served in the U.S. Army as a 13Bravo Cannon Crewmember and later as a PSYOP NCO in Afghanistan and Iraq. Currently I am a DoD Civilian Staff Officer at U.S. European Command at Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany.
Thank you for your time in advance and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Sandy, I have answered via an email reply
before I saw your message here. I will follow up.
By the way, I find it an interesting coincidence
that you are staying in Patch Barracks , probably
named after Commanding General of the
7th Army, Sandy Patch. (The 12th Armored Division
was part of the 7th ARmy.

I've seen all the email traffic and have a few things to add....nothing significant. I will write to you in the next few days. I'm working on a time sensitive project right now. Please don't think I'm ignoring you. I've passed through Patch Barracks a few time years ago. DO you know Mike Durgin? He was is the SOF community there years back. Not sure if he's still a DAC.
