Hello Benjamin,
We have 4 veterans of Co A, 17th AIB who are members of the 12th Armored Division Association. One of them, Bill Funke, is the 17th AIB unit representative. He and another A/17 man, Bob Stanton, have email. I will write to them and see if they have any memories of your grandfather. One of our members, Mike Woldenberg, is an expert at researching our archives and scrapbooks. I will email him and ask him to check also. Please give us a little time. Thank you for your interest in your grandfather's service.

Hello Benjamin, By a strange coincidence, Carl Lyons
has written a 50 page memoir. You can find it on
the Museum website. On the left side, scroll down to
Then scroll down to the 17th Army Infantry Battalion, and
there you will find his memoir. Look through it to see if
he mention Robert E Luedktke. Also, George Hatt (A-17) has written several excellent essays. You should consult these as a first step in learning about what the men
of A-17 went through.

I have not yet made any investigations, but you should
start with Lyons and follow with Hatt as I consult the archives.
