I have a recently discovered a relative pvt.Earl Corcoran who was a member of the 43rd Tank Battalion. He was a driver in a tank involved in the battle for Herrlisheim an was reported missing in action Jan. 16, 1945. I am trying to find out any report on his tank and other crew members that may have survived. Any help would be mega appreciated. I can be reached at timjdc@gmail.com

Tim,

I was notified of your post on the 12th Armored Division Facebook page. I'm not a facebook guy myself so I'm responding here and will write more via email. Earl is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at Epinal American Cemetery in France. Do you share DNA with Earl? I've been looking for a relative who shares DNA. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) is looking for relatives for DNA matches of certain people. Earl is one of them. Please respond to my email. Thanks! Bob Scherer

Sorry. They're looking for relatives who share DNA for the purpose of possible identification of unknown remains if enough families can be contacted to justify a mass exhumation.
