Trying to find out more information on my grandfather. I have a 12th Armored Division Badge from his service. I am not seeing him on your roster. I believe he served in the Pacific and from the little he spoke about the war said that he was on a tank. Would love to find out more.

Hello, Your grandfather was in the Pacific theater and
was in tanks. Undoubtedly he was in the 44th Tank
Battalion. This battalion was part of the 12th Armored Division but was pulled out of the division and sent to
New Guinea. Later they were sent to the Philippine Islands. Upon landing they were sent on a lightning strike to Manilla to rescue the civilians interred at the
Univ. of Santo Tomas. This is a terrific story.

Simply look up the 44th Tank Battalion on Google and
read. There are even news reel films out there.
We have some documents in our archives. Check this website for a few days. Mike
