Hello Chris, I have checked the 17,000 man roster (on
the left). I have a special Roster for the 17th, 56th and
66th Armored Infantry Battalions. I have checked the 43rd tank battalion--No luck so far. If you know
anything about the work he did--artillery, tanks,
maintenance of equipment, etc. please let me know.
I have checked the old Hellcat News and the
scrap books. Here the problem is complicated by
the names Gordon and Carlson. These occur quite
often. I find no Gordon Carlson in one phrase.

Can you tell me the State and town where he was
when he was inducted into the Army? If he travelled
to a different town to be inducted, can you tell me that?

Hi Chris,
Can you tell us anything else about your grandpa? Since you have his service number do you have his discharge papers? Or any other documents relating to his service? How about pictures or uniform items? The things Mike asked are critical to us helping you.
