Check out this YouTube video from the History Channel's show Counting Cars. A 1942 Ford truck is restored with a special surprise on the dash board. Does anyone know who the couple is?

Allan, Is there any way we can find out the name of
Carolyn's father? It would also help a lot to know his
company and battalion. We can attempt to find out what happened to him, as he was killed in action one week before the end of the war.
Mike

Hello Allan,

I hope you and your Mom are doing well. Thank you for posting this. I've written to the History Channel to see if they can provide us contact information for Carolyn. I'll let you know if I hear back from them.

Please give your Mom my best,
Bob

Hi Mike and Bob,
Mike, all I got out of this were first names Jerry and Carolyn. They sound like they're from Texas, so maybe cull all the 12th's KIA's between April 25 and May 5 1945 and search a genealogy website. Or maybe like Bob is doing, ask The History Channel for their names!

Bob, thanks for inquiring about mom. She's doing pretty good for her 93 years! I'll give her your message.

I had thought of your culling idea, but the date of death is scattered in memoirs and After Action Reports.
Bob's idea is easier, if the History Channel will
cooperate.
