Name of my grandfather was Konstanin Kovačević.
Number 5256 Stalag VI J,
Released Stalag VI E USA zone 04.03.1945.
Does anybody knows anything about that.

I don't sir, but I'm currently trying to locate the POW area where he would have lived.

Hello, I looked up the location of POW camp VI E.
Your grandfather was liberated there. I found this
camp about 30 miles east of Dortmund. I think this
was a long distance north of where the 12th
ARmored Division was fighting. Look at the map
and find the city of Worms on the Rhine. The 12th
crossed the Rhine and moved east in the direction of
Wurzburg. The British may have been the liberatiors of camp VI E.
