Hello. I just found out, that without knowing it, bought a mess kit from a Sgt in the 134th Ordnance Maintenance Battalion. A George E. Copp. Actually found a picture of him, but very little else on him or the unit.
Might you have any info on them?

was it actually him that you bought it from? Info I found was that he died in April 16, 1992. Was he from Maine or Texas or elsewhere?
the 134th was also known as the "Harvester Battalion" because it started out with men from International Harvester Company. they were very active in the war. You can learn more by looking in Books&Written experiences, 2713 pictures, oral histories on this site

Hello, Look at BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES.
At the top, see the memoir by Hartwig. He was one of the very first men to go into one of the Landsberg
Concentration Camps. (Camp IV), in Hurlach. By the way, this was the camp that was depicted in the movie, BAND OF BROTHERS. (These paratroopers arrived a day later). There are other eyewitness accounts I can dig up for you. Near the bottom of the list of BOOKS you can find a newsletter from the
International Harvester Company. Mike
