We have found pictures indicating our father may have been part of the company C that liberated a concentration camp. Does anyone know if company C liberated any camps?

Hello Dana,
I'll try to help you. Could you tell me your father's name, what his job was and what Battalion he was in? There were quite a few C Companies in the 12th Armored Division.
Thanks.

23rd Tank Bn and 82nd Med Det were there.
Many of the other units were also there but weren't recognized as liberating company's.

Dana, Thanks for sending us your Dad's name. Mike Woldenberg, one of our key researchers, was unable to discover anything on your Dad in the archives of our monthly publication, the Hellcat News (HCN). The HCN has been published every month since 1946. You Dad is also not listed on the list of 17,000 unit members, but that list is not complete. As Harry said he will be checking the Museum for info on your Dad. We want to help you, but we need any other information on your father that you have to be able to help you. What let you to believe your father was in the 12th Armored Division? Please contact me at rwscherer@verizon.net - I will not share your contact info without your permission. Sharing info via this message board is more difficult than using regular email. Thanks. Bob Scherer
