Hello, Eli Bailey was a member of the 17th Armored Infantry
Battalion, (A Company). Are you a relative?

To find out more about the 17th AIB, look to the left column,
BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES. Then scroll down to
the 17th and read the documents there, especially keeping
paying attention to the activities of company A.

Also, click on ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS. Click on the BATTALIONS column. This will collect all the 17th
interviews together. Then concentrate on Co. A, in case someone will mention him.

There is great deal written about the 17th, as I have said.
Also read, on the left side column:

DEATH OF AN AMERICAN COMBAT COMMAND.

And there are other books not on our web site.

The whole division took a terrible casualties at Herrlisheim.
in January 1945. Your uncle must have been involved,
assuming he crossed the Atlantic as part of the 12th.

Thanks, I have been reading and watch some videos. First time I have had a real vision of what He did and where He was. He never talked about it, folks just said He did and saw things that just upset Him to much to talk about His time in the war. I will check out more. One day would like to visit the museum. Thanks again You have been a great help.
