I Know Walt Disney designed the 56th Armored Infantry Regiment and 714th Tank Battalion insignia, but who designed the Hellcats in the tank letterhead design? Was that also Walt? or one of his artists? THANK YOU for any help with figuring out this conundrum.

my guess is that it was Edward Strazdes of Graffito fame.

Bill Lenches of the Museum wrote me with the following
information:


The Hellcat-on-Tank letterhead was not a Disney creation, but was drafted by Edward A Strazdes of HQ/56. He is also the guy who modified the Disney-drawn 56th insignia. As delivered, the drawing showed Mickey Mouse in a suit of armor- the men of the 56th refused to be a 'Mickey Mouse Outfit' and so had Ed re-draft the knight as human.
