posted 1/8/2015 10:55:09 AM Gentlemen,
Iam Command Sergeant Major James Carroll, I am the current CSM for 1-35 AR Battalion at Fort Bliss, TX. 1-35 AR was originally the 771st tank battalion. the 771st deactivated after WWII, then reactivated a couple times and was renamed. I am trying to find any living veterans from WWII or later from the 771st. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks
You can contact me through email at james.m.carroll7.mil@mail.mil

posted 1/10/2015 10:01:44 PM Hello, Command Sgt Major Carroll,
The 771st was attached to the 84th Rail Splitter Divn. from Dec to March, 1945.
See Google: Order of Battle, 84th Divn.
Also see Google: 84th Infantry Division. There was an Association, recently disbanded. Maybe they have a roster for living vets. Their home page has the name of the last President (and address, etc.)
Mike
