My uncle passed away in 1986 and rarely spoke of his war experiences with exceptional reference to something of a comic nature that occurred to him. My father recalls a visit from my uncle and some of his army buddies shortly before they shipped to Europe.

Any infomation would be of great interest to the family.

Hi,

I am a Legacy Member of the 12th Armored Division Association. I saw your question on our 12th AD museum website. Your question states your dad was assigned to the 12th Armd Inf. Bn. I did a Google search for this unit as abbreviated in your question and found no reference to that unit. I expanded the designation to "12th Armored Infantry Battalion" did the search again and got many hits. The 12th Armored Davison is made up of many Battalions, and has none designated with 12th Inf Battalion.

If I can be of further help contact me.
Regards,

Ken
