Please contact the Unit Representative to
the Hellcat News, Mr. Ed Pierce. He was in
A company, but may have known Arvil Miller.
He can put an announcement in the Hellcat News.
While you are waiting, go to the column on the left. Click on BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES, then click on THE INITIAL ASSAULT ON HERRLISHEIM BY THE 56TH AIB AND THE 714TH TANK BATTALION. Also Click on

My grandad was also in 56AIB HQ Co. They fought in France, Germany, and Austria from November '44 to May '45. In January of '45 they were pinned down in Herrlisheim France in one of the bloodiest battles of the war. There are several pretty good written accounts of the battle. Google Bloody Bloody Herrlisheim.
