posted 6/5/2013 8:35:53 PM Hello, Go to the BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES. Read this: Story of the Helltracks - Combat History of the 572nd Anti-aircraft artillery
It is very well written. The problem is there are no names of soldiers mentioned. The 572nd was a service battalion. Each service battalion was spread around the division. Mr. Gendreau was in the Headquarters Company. This company was assigned to Division HQ. Their duty was to provide antiaircraft protection for Div. HQ. As I read the book, the 572nd did a terrific job of knocking down enemy airplanes. (35 destroyed, 28.5 probably destroyed). One was shared with another outfit. Also, you might find men from Division HQ who would speak about what they did. Note that no one from the 572nd gave an interview. I will look a little further. The 572nd was attached to the 12th in France. They were not with the 12th in training.

posted 6/6/2013 2:14:46 PM Evidently, the 572nd men were mainly from Pennsylvania. There may be an official living in Scranton. Look up the 572nd in Google.
