My father was in the 66th Arm Inf Bat and was one of the solders that was at the Danube River Bridge Capture at Dillngen. I have read the articles that are posted on the website and wanted to see if there was any other information about him.

Hi, I will look up the address of Lester Porter tonight and
send it to you. Lester was at the bridge and may have
some important details to tell you about.

Regards, Mike Woldenberg

Hello everyone. Lester Porter has written on the capture of the bridge at Dillingen. Go
to Google and enter: "Dillingen Bridge"
Click on the material relating to Lester
Porter and others from the 12th Armored.
This material is also found on this website,
in the Books and Written Experiences section
on the left hand side.
(I have not searched this material myself).

Contact the museum and we can arrange to send a copy of Lester's story. He mentions your father in his account.

Crossing the Zorn took place near
Herrlisheim north of Strassburg in January. The
capture of the bridge at Dillingen took
place in late April in Bavaria.
