Laurie, On our website: Read the
Initial Assault on Herrlisheim by the 56th AIB and the
714th Tank Battalion.

Go to Oral History Videos. Click on BATTALIONS.
Find all the 714th together.

Next go to Google: Enter:

After Action Report 714th Tank Battalion.

You will bring up a page for this, and on the right,
find DOWNLOAD. You will get a very long typed
report, over 180 ????? pages.

Mike

You might email the Unit Representative of the 714th Tank Battalion to the Hellcat News
and ask if she can put you in touch with veterans from
714 C.

Good luck!

article in Hellcats, Volume 2, page 179 about his being a powerhouse batter in the Battalion softball league.Said he was other half of the battery, so must have been the catcher. Believe they were still in Germany.

My grandfather was George L. KaLber wasy grandfather whom served with the 714th. Co. C. Unfortunately I know very little of him other than pictures. However he was on a softball team while in Germany, of which I have pictures. Cka1ber@gmail.com is my email address. I would also like to hear any stories in relation to my granfather, if anyone knew him. Thank you!

I have a book from the city of Dillingen.
There is a picture of Babe Ruth.

Shortly after the war he showed up in Dillingen and entertained the troops.
I believe some of our troops (12th ARmored) were stationed
there at the time
I think he actually played or demonstrated
his hitting.
