Hello, If you have to have something to write about for
a school assignment in the next few days, here is what
you can do NOW. Your grandfather was in the 714th Tank Battalion.

On the left side you will see DEATH OF AN AMERICAN COMBAT COMMAND. This tells the story of a battlle
where the 12th Armored took some serious losses.
I think the 714th Tank Battalion is covered in this.

Also on the left side: BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES. Click on that.
Then click on NIGHTMARE IN HERRLISHEIM. Also read: INITIAL ASSAULT ON HERRLISHEIM BY THE 56TH AIB AND 714TH TANK BATTALION.

Click on ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS. Then click on the column
labelled BATTALION. This will sort the all the interviews by
battalion. On the bottom of the page, click on page 12.
There you find all the 714th interviews together. Start with
Company C.

You might email the Unit Representative of the 714th Tank Battalion to the Hellcat News
and ask if she can put you in touch with veterans from
714 C.

Good luck!
