He was in the 12th Armored Division 56th Arm Inf Batt. His name was Douglas H Humphrey from Idaho. I have been looking for pictures. Does anyone remember him?

Hello Lisa, I am forwarding your request for
information to the Unit Representative to
the Hellcat News for the 56th Armored Infantry Battalion. He is a veteran, and
may have known your grandfather. He will put
a notice in the Hellcat News and it is likely
that it will be published in February. In the meantime, it would be great if we could
identify his Company. It would be easier to
find men who knew him.

Mr. Edward Pierce: piercejr9@aol.com

The information could be in the HISTORY OF THE 56th AIB (by Lapic and Hale) that contains the daily listing of men wounded, killed, and the medals they earned.

Look on the left column for 2713 DIVISION PHOTOS. Look at the 56th AIB. You might get lucky.
