Looking for anybody who served w/my dad, Merlin Baur, from Halder, WI. He currently resides in Mosinee, WI. He served in 1945 as a machine gunner towards the end of the war.

Hello! The unit representative to the
Hellcat News, Geoff Lackey, can put an announcement in
the Hellcat News. Or he may give you the
addresses of men from Company A who are still living.

Geof Lackey: lackeys@charter.net

Also: The Historian is James Francis, a veteran from Company A.

I have a question. Is your Dad a member of
the 12 Armored Association? If so, he should receive THE HELLCAT NEWS. If he is not a member, ask Geoff Lackey to sign you
up.

You might want to read

A HISTORY OF THE 23D TANK BATTALION

look to the left and see: BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES, and scroll down and you will find it.

Also, go to ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS and look
for men from the 23d Tank Battalion.

Hello Baurk, my dad, Mac William Lackey, was also in A company of the 23rd, and remembers your father (somewhat well). I say "somewhat" because my dad is now 91 and his memory is fading fast. I spoke with your dad a few months ago, and he told me that he and my dad bunked together during the occupation (when they would "requisition" a German civilian's house. Jim Francis, our historian, tells me he was in the same tank with your dad during combat. I've put some of this info in the HCN, but please contact me to discuss more. Thanks

And yes, Mike, Merlin Baur is a lifetime member and is receiving the HCN. The association confirmed such as part of their census. And I've confirmed with Merlin by phone as well (recently, just a few months ago).
