posted 10/26/2011 9:28:22 PM It is with a heavy heart, I would like to notify everyone that my Grandfather, Leon E. Zitske passed away on Oct. 7, 2011. He entered the U.S. Army serving from October of 1942 to November of 1945 in the 12th Armored Division which fought in France and Germany during World War II. Leon was wounded in January of 1945 and taken prisoner in Germany with 48 of his C Company buddies. He received numerous commendations, most importantly the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters. He will be greatly missed, just wanted to share this info with you all.
