posted 9/9/2011 6:59:58 PM I am the grandson of Edward M. North. He was in the 66th Armored Infantry Battalion, but I am not sure which company. I am trying to compile a family history, and I would like some information on his service. Any information about him would be greatly appreciated. He never spoke much about the war, as it affected him very deeply. He passed away in 2001.

posted 9/10/2011 8:45:19 PM Dear Mr. North, Your grandfather was in Co. B, of the 66th. You should contact George O'Bryan, (618) 282 6079, or email: geoo@htc.net George is the Unit Representative to the Hellcat News. Tell him your grandfather was in Company B.
Also, look on the left column for Oral History Videos. Click on "Battalion" and then search for the 66th, and within that search for Company B.
If your grandfather was an original member, or had joined the 12th in Europe, by, say Jan. 1, 1945, read about Herrlisheim: in the left column (DEATH OF AN AMERICAN COMBAT COMMAND). This will get you started. Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
