posted 8/8/2011 8:42:04 PM Hello Diane, Pfc Richard A Boch was in Company C - 56th Armored Infantry Battalion, (not HQ as stated in the 17,000 Men Roster found on the left side of this page). Also click on BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES on the left side of the page. See the HISTORY OF THE 56TH AIB. On about page 10 or so, there is a list of Killed in Action. Pfc Boch is mentioned there. In the Appendices at the end of the book, on March 31 the Headquarters of the 56th was moving from Amorbach to Hottengen in Germany. (The Division crossed the Rhine at Worms on March 27 or so).
See the ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS on the left. Click on BATTALIONS. Scroll to the 56th. Click on men from Company C 56.
Contact Ed Pierce, the Unit Representative who can put you in contact with men from Company C (I hope). piercejr9@aol.com
Also, Otis Shull is from Company C and may be able to help.. ogsjss@aol.com
Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
