Hello. I recently begun looking into my 2 grandpas and my dad. Both grandpas were in WWII one in the navy and one in the army. My dad was a marine in vietnam.

Anyway. I have my grandpa original operation paperwork. Some letters and a few pics. He enlitsted in early 1942 and served untill the end of the war. And rose to the rank of CPL.

I was wondering. Where could he, or did he fight??? On his Discharge papers, it notes squad leader assistance 059. And battles are listed as, Rhineland, Central Europe and Anzio.

He was with Company A, 119th Armored Engineer BN 66

Thank you so much.

Hello, You forgot to mention your grandfather's name.
He apparently was with 2 Divisions. When he fought in Anzio, in Italy, he was not a member of the 12th Armored. He then was evidently sent as a replacement to the 119th Armored Engineer Battn of the 12th Armored Divison. You can find Division Photos on the left side.
Also, you can find interview of men from the 119th under Oral History Videos. Click on Battalion, and all the 119th
will be together in a group.
Read the Division History in the books at the top of
BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES.
