I have been in contact with the author of this query. For those reading this message, Casimir Romain Jagieniak,
otherwise known as Cassie R Jake, HQ, Forward Echelon,
was most probably an OSS man who was operating in France in the summer of 1944. One of his jobs apparently was to recover downed pilots and to send them back to England In one document: Title:
JED--MJM8 (?), Vol. 4, July, August, September, 1944.
page either 28 or perhaps 78.
Operations, Team Hugh:
"19August from 8FH2 (?) to Hugh (331)"
"...Please send back by ?-----? operation as many rescued pilots as possible. Keep contact with Romain or Croc. Standby times for
September moon period from 29 August to 10 September
from 2200 to 0200 hours...."
