Hello,

I am an inhabitant from the little old town in Bavaria, it is called "Dinkelbuehl".

Now, I am looking für II. WW-photos and movies of our town and US-troops. The US-soldiers stood in the April 1945 in our town. I think it was the 12th Armored Division, specific the 56th Armored Infantery Battalion and the 82nd Armored Medical Battalion.

Who can help me? I am very gladly for an answer and thank you for your help ahead.

Many greetings from Bavaria

One photo taken in Dinkelsbuehl is on the Photo - Combat page of this website. The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum has several pictures taken in Dinkelsbuehl on or about VE Day. We can scan these and email them to you if you provide your email address.

Tannenbaum,

Freut mich, Dich kennenzulernen.

Rich

Here's a translation from Google Translator:

Tannenbaum,
Pleased to meet you. A quick search on Ebay and I found this photo. http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/12th-Armored-sherman-enters-Dinkelsbuhl-Germany-/280486179995

The men on this side are very helpful ... I hope they can find something for you.

My grandfather fought with the 12th Armored, in the 43rd Tank Battalion. He was dead before I was born, but through this page I've met a man who knew my grandfather. I had called him and talked about the war. I was really something special.

Oops, good luck with your search. You can write me at rexfunk@gmail.com, if you want.

Bye,
Rich
