I would like any information on my uncle John Harold Robinson serving with the 17th Armored Infantry Batallion in Germany. He was killed in action in 1945. He was thought to have been with a friend Stone Shotts when killed.

Dear Edward, It usually is a little easier to find
men who may have known your Uncle John if we knew
his company: A, B, C or HQ, etc., and the approximate date, or place when he was killed. There are still men living who might remember your Uncle. I was unable to find his company on the roster (17,000 Men, on the left column).
Also, I could not find Stone Shotts, or Schatz or Shatz.
If you contact the unit rep, Bill Funke, he will put an announcement in the Hellcat News. s

Bill's email is fwilliam46@msn.com,
Phone: 970 442 0255

Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg

Hi Ed,
What state was your uncle from? We can get some basic info from the WW2 memorial website. And detailed info from the DOA and the VA

My uncle Harold was from the State of Alabama. He was 32 years of age and was a PFC in rank.
