Hello, I am Président of the local French Veteran association UNC. I am in charge to preserve the History from the 2ndWW, for the little town of Rouffach in France. Rouffach was included in the battle of Colmar pocket. February 5th, Maj.Gen. Roderik ALLENS with the 12th Hellcat Armored division linked up with the Fourth Moroccan mountain division of the French First corps, monday morning at Rouffach. The Colmar pocket was split.
My problem is, that as this day, I can't found photos from this event and specialy from the "shack hands". The day befor, at the same place, a French tank was destroyed from a german Panther.
Thanks very much for your help.

Dear Mr. Klinger (Roro),

I am a second generation member of the 12th Armored Division.

Perhaps Madam Lise Pommois can help you. She is an historian who lives a few kilometers west of Herrlisheim near Strasbourg. She has studied the history of Operation Nordwind and knows the
history of Alsace Lorraine in WW2. She knows many veterans of the 12th Armored Division and she has done research at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland, having visited the USA
many times.

I will send you her address in a separate
email.I will contact you if I find out more.

Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
