posted 4/14/2010 12:06:11 PM My grandfather served in the 82nd Army Medic Bat. He didn't speak a lot of his experiences during WWII until he became terminally ill; even then, it was vague. It wasn't until he passed away in May 2000 that we became aware of the extent of his service. As my father, aunts and uncle were going through his personal belongings, they found documents concerning his service. I would like to know more about my grandfather so I can have information to pass down to my children. If anyone can tell me about him or have pictures, I would really appreciate you sharing them with me.

posted 4/15/2010 6:26:26 AM Dear Tim?, Your first step is to contact the Unit Representative to the 82nd Armored Medical Battalion, Diane Remington:
976 681 1481 depelle@aol.com
She can put you in touch with veterans, and can put an announcement in the Hellcat News.
Ask her if there is a memoir or history for the unit. I am guessing that many of the men were assigned to various other units. I can mail you a roster of the 82nd. It was current in 2003, but some of the men have passed, and I do not know who is living. You can contact Max Eaglefeld 914- 834- 0480. He used to be the Unit Rep I believe. Ask him the same questions you ask Diane.
Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
