My wife's grandfather, Cpl. Hobert Osborne, was killed in action while serving with the 714th tank Battalion Co. B, 12th Armored Division. I am trying to find any information on the battles he may have been in or any information about his death. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, and God Bless America.

I am a Legacy member of the 12TH AD Association

Contact the National Archives, your wife may be "next of kin" as defined by the National Archives she may be able to get his death records which may contain additional information. The NA was devastated in 1973 by a fire which destroyed every personal record from WW2.

Next contact the Veterans Administration for any records on her granddad. The VA records contain life insurance applications and beneficiary data. You must also support the "next of kin" rule.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Ken
