I am Gerhart Petrichs Grandson and am looking for anyone who served with him or knew him during ww2. Grandpa Gerhart died in 1992 when I was 15 yrs old. I do know a bit about his time in the army, He was known as the old man to his fellow soldiers as he was 27 years old when he was drafted. He was the winner of the bronze star witch he was not awarded until 1962 because of an Army paperwork misshap, i now have possession of that medal and show it proudly to all. I allso have a large color map that shows the 12th armored Div. travels through euorpe, any info please respond ????

Hello,

George O'Bryan is 66th Armored Infantry unit representative to the Hellcat News. He can put an announcement in the
News, and perhaps he will come up with some contacts.
If you have information on his Company, please let
George know. I believe he was NOT in Company C,
as I have a Roster for that Company in the book
"C-66"

Thanks for the info guys, I know Gerhart was in the 56th AIB HQ after boot camp,as my dad has a company photo with this info on it but he must have been switched to the 66th as that is what your web page roster indicates ???

Go to

12tharmoreddivison.org

Then go to the Roster, and there I think I
found that Gerhart Petrich was in Service
Company of the 66th. This was a post war
membership roster,so he must have self
registered. I wonder when he made the
switch from the 56th.

Your truly, Mike W.
