Hello 12th Armored Division -- my name is Beth Mahan, granddaughter of Samuel Wayne Mahan. My pap passed away and I am in search to find out as much as I can about the 12th Armored Division and his unit. Thanks to this site, I knew he was with C Company, 23rd Tank Battalion. I was hoping I could find his platoon.

I was able to recover the government issued bible he carried in his pocket during World War II, his tags, and division patch.

I look forward to making a trip to visit the museum and learning as much as I can about the Hellcats.

If anyone can offer any information on my grandfather, I would love to hear.

Thank you 12th Armored Division for your service.
