My father, Benjamin A. Cataldo recently passed away just a few short weeks ago. I am in the process of trying to find all of his World War 2 records. SOme background on my father. He lived in NYC on 50 Macdougal street. He was in the 494th Arm Field Artillery Battalion. He always spoke so passionately about the war and what he and everyone else did for this great country. If anyone can help or if anyone knows how I can go about getting his war records, please drop an email to ManThatTime4got@aol.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
-Evan M. Cataldo

Dear Evan, I am sorry to hear that your father has passed away. I hope that he was at some point in touch with friends from the 12th Armored. You can get an announcement in the Hellcat News. Please contact the unit rep.

lease contact the unit representative to the Hellcat News:

Ted Glogovac, (408)499-0188

He can write an announcement in the Hellcat News, or he can put you
in touch with someone directly.

Also, contact Ken Klinedinst who will give you advice on
how to obtain military records:

email: kbk@conknet.com

Ken is the vice president of the 12th Armored Association. He is a Legacy (2nd generation) member.

Finally by coincidence there is a message from John Stephenson just a few messages below yours.
below yours. His father,John, is still living and was also in the 494th
Field Artillery Battery B. Perhaps you can arrange to talk to him. John Stephenson's email is:

This will get you started.
