Hi I am looking for information about my grandfather, George Smerick. I have never met him. He died when my mother was 13. He never discussed any of his war experinces with my mom. He is listed as a POW in the c66. Any info would be so great to share with my mom! Thanks so much! Lisa Ranieri

Dear Iranieri, Please contact George O'Bryan. He is the Unit Representative for the Hellcat News. His email is:
geoo@htc.net His phone is (618) 282 6079

Also to the left side on this website is a list of Books and
Written Expriences. There is a chapter of a long book by

The book has one paragraph written by your grandfather.
He also appears on several lists. The book was written in 1992.

You might also contact the former President of the Association. His name is Bob Hoeweler. His business address is 10549 Reading Road, Cincinnatti, 45239

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me! I was contacted by two gentlemen and we shared some information back and forth. It seems as though the George E. Smerick in C66 was most likely my mother's half brother. My grandfather with no middle initial, also George Smerick, was also in WWII not the 12th armored division. Thanks again!
