Day after my grandmother Ruth Livingood of Union Town PA ..died. I realized she never spoke of nor did i ever once ask about my grandfather Laurence Edgar Schroyer Friendsvill MD. Lawrence as the army likes to spell it "W" laurence was killed froma head wound. German sniper I recon. In Tauberbischofsheim on March 31 when 56th "TASK FORCE NORTON" was to obtain a bridgehead cross main near oschenfurt, continue to klitzgien.
I have found info through family as every GOV institute seems to want more money i don't have, or all caught fire in St Louis
I have made it my hobby and have learned so much about ww2, eto and pasific, driven to know a man i will never know, one who mom grew up without, as for the rest who felt his loss, i do now more then ever. have so many questions, can anyone help... 56th HQ guys come on !

My father, Albert P. Rivette, also served in Headquarters company, 56th Armd Inf. He was the motor sergeant for the battalion.
Would be very interested in trading what information we have - maybe we can both learn something new.
