Is there anyone who can help me find information regarding my Father's brother, Gerald R. Upp, 12th Armored Division, 56th Arm Inf Bat? My brother and I are trying to find anything about our uncle, who was wounded and said on D Day that he was at Omaha Beach. Anything you may know will be very helpful. Thanks.

Dear Patti, The 12th Armored did not participate in DDay. Check out the phone number of the unit Rep for the 56th AIB.
His name is Frank Barndollar. The number can be found in my entry on the Message Board:
"How to Find People."
Frank is also the Editor of the Hellcat News.
My theory is that Gerald Upp may have been
reassigned to the 56th, after he recovered from his wounds. Mike Woldenberg
