HI,
my Father SGT Phillip Pelkey was wounded in action in Herrlisheim France on 17.Jan 1945. I know he was brought to Stalag VB Villingen. I was not able to get any info on the time between 17. Jan 45 and the time he spend in prision? Can anybody help me?

Dear Linda, Your father was in Company A, 17th Armored Infantry Battalion. I am at work now and do not have names and addresses with me. However, Steve Czecha (spelling?)
is an authority on the POWs. There are men still alive who
survived the prison camps, and among them are men from
the 17th. I will get back to you this weekend.

Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg

Dear Linda, One more thing. I note that you are in Germany
on the anniversary of your father's capture in 1945. Will
you be there for only a few days? If so, maybe I can
accelerate the investigation by sending you relevant
phone numbers in regular email.
