I'm looking for information about my grandfather's time in Company A of the 56th Armored Infantry Div.
According to his papers he was in Rhineland and Central Europe.
At Fame Theatre he was wounded. And he told a story of using wench trucks to lift all equipment and vehicles out of a dead end canyon.
He was a Auto Mechanic 014 combat infantryman and we know he entered the service in Tulsa, OK in 1942. His name was P.J. (Phillip John) Robinson.

Dear Nadine,
I have a document "History of the 56th Armored Infantry Battalion." I
found the following:
On February 4, Staff Sergeant Robinson of A Company was wounded. He was
probably wounded in Colmar, or on the way from Houssin to Colmar.
I am not sure whether Fame Theater (Theatre?) is a Theater building or
the word Fame is some kind of abbreviation. Perhaps Otis Shull or
Ed Pierce can help you with this.

Dear Nadine, Otis Shull tells me that I had the wrong
Robinson. Pfc Robinson is the correct one. He was
wounded on April 26. I sent this and other information
to Otis and he will forward it to you since I do not have
your email address.
