I was wondering if anyone knew my father. He was a Tank sergeant, it was in the 495th armoured division. He was orginally from Greenville, NC In the begining he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Tenn. I know he served under Patton for a short time. Thanks in advance.

Dear Maggie May, I am a legacy member of
the association. The 495th Field Artillery Battalion had 3 medium tanks.
(See Organization and Equipment of the 12th
Armored, just in the column to the left of this screen). So, your Dad's
assignment was somewhat unusual. The unit representative
is Kenneth Poucher, PhD.

Ken can put an announcement in the Hellcat News and he can also send you a
Roster of the battalion. (If he won't, I will).

The 12th Armored Association is having their reunion this week at the
Drawbridge Hotel
in Covington, Kentucky, near Cincinnatti.
(Wednesday through Thursday). You might want to call Ken before he leaves,
as he will meet several members at the reunion.

Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
