He was my mother's oldest brother. He was about 20, from Northern Kentucky outside of Cincinnati, was awarded the Silver Star for actions in the battle in which he received his mortal wounds.

Look at the "Books and Written Experiences" it is listed on the left on the home page. The 17TH AIB is listed there.

Also contact the 17TH unit rep, Bill Funke at 970-482-0255 he may be able to help.

My father (deceased 1974) was in in the 17th AIB Company C. I have a PDF copy of Mount Up The History of Company C. He drew some of the sketches in that book and wrote some of the text. The PDF file is 70+ pages. If your email provider can handle a file that large, I'll email you a copy.

As an added reply, I looked up John McClorey's name in the "Mount Up" book and saw that he was killed in the same battle that my father was wounded in.
