posted 3/20/2007 4:26:23 PM  I just sent in a post but with an error on my part. I believe that I have forgotten to mention that my uncle Gabriel was in a Service Company while in the 44th Tank Div. I just thought that this extra bit of info might help in my research. Thanks again.

posted 3/20/2007 11:06:37 PM  Hello Frank Foss, I think you might be refering to the 44th Tank Battalion. The 44th was attached to the 12th Armored Division and trained at Camp Campbell. Then in March 1944 the 44th Tank BN was relieved from assignment to the 12th AD and sent overseas to the Pacific.

posted 3/22/2007 8:10:12 AM  Yes, uncle was in the 12th and assigned to the 44th.We have A photo of him in his uniform wearing the 12AD patch on his left shoulder sleeve. According to recent paper work found, he was in Service Co.,44th Tank Battalion. And yes, they wewe in the Pacifif. I believe he was in the Philippines. I do have his service number also.
