I am looking for anyone who may have known or served with my uncle. He passed away several years ago. We searched around trying to find any military type paper work like his discharge papers but are unable to do so.
We recently found one of his dress shirts with the 12TH Armored Div. patch on the left
arm.If there is someone out there that can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated. His name is Gabriel Petrucci
from Cranston, Rhode Island

Sincerely,

Frank

Dear Frank, Was his name James Foss? If so he was with the 134th Ordinance Maintenance Battalion. If we can verify
this we can put you in contact with people who can help.

Since my last post, I'ev gathered more information on my uncle. Gabriel Petrucci.I now have his serial number and social security number to su7bmit but will do so upon request. We have found a letter written to him from one of his buddies. His name is
1st/ Sgt. Palmer L. Abshire. This letter was written while Sgt. Palmer was in Mekyo Honahu Island, Japan and dated 6/11/1948.

A section reads 1st/Sgt. Palmer L. Abshire
95th Light Tank Co. (sep)
A.P.O. 181 Co. A

He is telling my uncle that the 44th Tank Div. was changed to the 95th Light Tank Co. with A 156 man crew. My uncle entered the Army on May 5, 1942 and was honorably discharged on Sept, 11, 1945. His home address at that time was 10 Tremont St. Thornton, R.I.

And does anyone know of or have information on what was known as Camp Campbell,Sec,
5th Service Command Branch and Army Emergency Relief? I would also like to locate 1st/Sgt. Palmer Abshire. Maybe he can help me and my cousin on this research.

Thank you for any assistance on this search.

Palmer Abshire died in the early 80's due to a heart attack prefaced by 2 strokes. He lived in Vine Grove, KY. Any info you could give me about him would be appreciated. I am his grandson.
