I am searching for anyone who knew my uncle William Ryan. He was KIA on January 16 1945. He was with the 66th. I have read his letters he wrote home, and would like to know more about his time he spent in France and how he was killed. Thanks, Janrif@cox.net

I knew William Ryan. I was taken POW on the day he was killed. January 16, 1945. Would answer any questions that I can regarding that morning of January 16, 1945 during our attack on Steinwald Woods.

I did notice that Bill Ryan is mentioned several times, although mostly just statistially, in my father's book C-66: A WWII Chronicle of an Armored Infantry Company , of which he was a member. The book is temporarily not listed on this site, but you can either go to Amazon.com or write him at EMERYwebrg@aol.com. He also has a web site at www.c-66.com. I hope this helps. Eric Emery

Did you happen to know William Young (56th A.I.B. Company C), from Wellsburg, WV, who was injured (lost his leg)on Jan 16, 1945 at Steinwald?
