I am trying to find information about my grandfather and his time spent in this division. I was only 7 when he past away and everyone states that he really didn't talk about his time in the service and I would like to have some information for his great grandson.
Thank you

Hi Robin,

I am a Legacy member of the 12th Armored Division Association and will help you with your request. Adam and Betty Beckadic B-714 were members of the association.

The fastest way to locate a veteran who knew Adam is to get a copy of a roster and start calling the members. The latest copy I have is 2003. You'll find many have passed away, moved or their area code has been changed. I suggest if you call you follow up with a letter. If you email me you address I'll send you a copy of the B-714th Tank Battalion roster.

In addition we can put a notice in our monthly newspaper, the Hellcat News. If a notice is sent today it will not get published until the October issue. If you have a photo of Adam in his uniform that will help.

The 714th has a new unit rep and I am not sure if she is up to speed, but I will contact her and pass your question along.

Regards,

Thank you for your reply. I thought that it might be a stretch. I was hoping to find out what role Company B played in WWII and which battles.
Do you have any of that information?
Thank you
Robin

Hi Robin,

If you look at the left side of this website, you'll see what looks like a book spine with a listing of topics. This the first and easiest place to find info. The other is to contact John E Critzas A/714 (800) 537-1418, John was from A Company 714 TK BN and he may know of some written stories about B Company or who you could contact from B Company.

I have not heard back from the new unit rep. When I do I'll let you know.

Regards,

Ken
