I'm looking for information about my Grandfather, Charles F. Peischl. He passed away a little over 3 years ago and I'm interested in learning more about his military history. He was with the 56th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 12th A.D. He enlisted and was comandeered an officer on the field. I would appreciate any that can be provided.
Thanks in advance!
Jonathan Peischl

Hi Jonathan,

I am a Legacy Member of the 12TH Armored Association. I did not know your grandfather, but I have met your grandmother Rita. She is probably the first person to ask, who knew your granddad.

Here are a few names from a A /56, 2003 reunion roster you could contact.

Georgov, Jr. William 56-A 80 Caravel Dr Bear, DE 19701 302-834-3026
Barndollar Frank W. 56-A 102 Sparrow St. Keene, NH 3431 603-352-3388
VanDerhoef Floyd 56-A 1308 Hillcrest Drive Monett, MO 65708-1316 417-235-3930

The association http://www.12tharmoreddivision.com/ and museum [where you posted your message] websites also have a vast amount of photos and written information about the 12th AD.

Please contact me if you need more information.

Regards,

Ken

Dear Jonathan, I am also a legacy member of the 12th Armored. You can find out something about Charlie Peischl in the book
Nightmare in Herrlisheim, and similar books. I will get the exact titles for you. I know your (step?) grandmother, Rita Peischl and she will have some stories as well.

Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
