posted 9/11/2005 10:41:57 AM Hello,
I am a Legacy Member of the 12th Armored Division Association and will try to help you with your request.
The Association will be holding its annual reunion in Tulsa, OK this week. I will be attending and will bring your message to the 43RD Tnk Bn members.
Also if you will send me your address I’ll mail you a copy of the 2003 association roster for the 43RD. The roster lists the living members by Unit, name, address and in most cases phone numbers. This will give you the opportunity to contact additional members who may add to the info about your dad.
My uncle was KIA 16 JAN 45 in France and is buried in Epinal Cemetery with your dad. Have you been there?
If you plan to carry your search further I can provide you with the address’s of government agencies which have copies of his burial, insurance, and cause (wound location) of death.
Our annual reunion for 2006 will be in Minneapolis, MN. Enjoy one of life’s greatest experiences; meet the men who fought with your dad. I know this is short notice, but you have time to make it to Tulsa September 14 – 17. If you would like details let me know.
Regards,
Ken Klinedinst / Legacy Member

posted 10/2/2007 9:48:34 PM Hello, I tried to email you on this question, but the email didn't go through.
I wanted you to know that your father tried to save my grandfather's life, at the risk of his own. When they were hit, your father and another man (whose name I regrettably do not know) carried him to the medic station while under fire themselves. Though my grandfather died that day, I wouldn't be able to thank them enough for trying.
If you want more info, I will try to find the letters that my grandmother has about that day.
