posted 3/13/2005 9:45:28 AM Hi Mike,
I am a Legacy Member of the 12TH Armored Davison Association, and will try to help you with your question.
The I copied the info below from the members (original Veterans of the Division) located from the website you posted your message. If this is the Veteran you are seeking info about, I may be able to provide additional info.
Regards,
Ken

posted 3/14/2005 12:21:31 PM Hi Mike,
I am glad I helped you.
I read your message again, which leads me to ask you a few questions. What info are you specifically looking for? The genealogy relationship, military info on both Veterans? This would help me to advise you where to look. Example, since they are both buried in the same cemetery you may fine info on the grave markers, as to DOB and other info. Death certificates, I believe in most states, is public info, some may be online. Birth records are more restricted in some sates.
Leon is recognized on the WW2 Memorial Registry as having died do to wounds incurred doing the war. Which means the Veterans Administration may have records which would help you. There is a William H. VanTyle (spelled with the upper case T) from Frankfort, IN on the registry. This name was posted by a person of the same name which may be the Veteran himself.

Please help me with anything info you may have, and that way I can continue.
To help all those looking for info on the 12TH AD Website I am going to post this and future communication we have on the board. Many people read the messages and are better at this than I am.
Regards,
Ken
